Cashew Milk

Raw Cashew Milk

1 cup raw cashews, soaked for one hour and rinsed
6 to 7 cups of water

optional:  1 tbsp raw honey or 5 drops SweetLeaf stevia, 1 vanilla bean (scraped out), 2 drops orange and/or cinnamon essential oil

Place the cashews in a high-speed blender with about 4 to 7 cups of water, depending on how thick you want it. (For use with green smoothies, I use 7 cups of water. To drink it straight, 4 or 5 is good).

Blend on high for about 50 seconds or until completely smooth.  You do not need to strain. 

Store in the refrigerator and use within 5 days.

Note:  Although not straining the milk does add to the calorie/fat content, the amount of water makes this a reasonable beverage to drink.  If you add 7 cups of water to one cup of cashews, each cup of cashew milk will be around 90 calories.
